MAVESZ - the Hungarian Chemical Industry Association PDF Print E-mail

The Hungarian Chemical Industry Association (MAVESZ) represents the interests of enterprises in the chemical sector of Hungary, and it also promotes coordination and harmonization of interests among its members.

The membership of MAVESZ comprises leading companies in petrochemicals, fertilizers, carbon fibres and paint production, chemical trade and distribution. Sectoral groups operating within MAVESZ include trade associations of plastics converters, plastic pipe manufacturers, paints and agrochemicals producers.

MAVESZ is a member of the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) and the European Chemical Employers Group (ECEG).

While European social partners in the chemical industry welcome initiatives on energy efficiency, they are worried that measures aimed at absolute energy savings instead of increasing energy efficiency could constitute a barrier to economic growth leading ultimately to negative social impacts - stressed ECEG and EMCEF, the chemical employers' and employees' federations, in a joint statement issued in Brussels on March 20.
 
The wage agreement signed by the Hungarian Chemical Industry Association (MAVESZ) and the Chemical Workers Trade Union (VDSZ) on March 12 envisages a 3 to 5 percent increase of gross incomes in the chemical industry. This increase shall be above the "compulsory wage compensation" measures set out by the government. The agreement also reaffirms that the social partners consider important both the increase of the competitiveness of chemical enterprises and the motivation of chemical employees, and that labour relations shall continue to be correct and predictable in the Hungarian chemical industry.

Az árbevétel növekedése mellett jelentősen visszaesett a magyarországi vegyipari vállalkozások eredményessége 2011-ben - idézte a Világgazdaság február 17-i számában Budai Ivánt, a MAVESZ igazgatóját. A vegyiparban a termelés és az értékesítés egyaránt növekedett, valamint több kulcsfontosságú fejlesztést is felmutathat az iparág, azonban további bővülés szükséges ahhoz, hogy elérje a válság előtti értékeket.
